National Museum of the Royal Navy’s Conference on the Anglo-German Naval Arms Race and the War At Sea

image001Registration is now open for the NMRN’s conference on the Anglo-German Naval Arms Race and the War At Sea up to the eve of the Battle of Jutland.  The conference keynote addresses will be given by Professor Nicholas Rodger,  Professor Norma Friedman and Rear-Admiral James Goldrick (RAN).  Conference speakers will cover:

  • The arms race and popular culture
  • Imperial defence
  • Use of intelligence
  • Naval operations, strategy, and tactics
  • Economic warfare in war and peace
  • Naval leadership, education, command and control
  • Technological and ship design developments
  • The arms race from British, German and South American perspectives

The delegate fee will cover all refreshments during the conference, a wine reception and dinner on HMS Victory as well as a reception in the Museum’s new Twentieth Century gallery and First World War Special exhibition ‘Racing to War’.
